class levels breakdown
-
A great first class for new dancers with little-to-no dance experience. It introduces basic techniques in a supportive and encouraging environment and is designed to help beginners gain confidence as a dancer and further develop their lover for dance, while learning choreography in a fun & accessible way.
-
These classes are designed for dancers with some experience who are ready to explore more complex moves and develop their skills. We build on foundational techniques with choreo that may be more challenging, but incredibly rewarding.
-
Intermediate to Advanced classes push dancers with challenging choreography & more complex movements. These classes focus on more intricate, advanced techniques that encourages dancers to push their limits and refine their skills.
-
Open level classes are designed to accommodate a wide range of dancers, from beginners to those more experienced. Currently our only open level class is Open Level Ballet, which class emphasizes proper alignment, posture, and technique, while fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for dancers of various skill levels to explore and improve their ballet fundamentals.
good to know for your first class
-
Be sure to bring a water bottle with you to stay hydrated, clothes you are comfortable moving in, and the appropriate shoes for class. For most styles you will need to wear clean indoor shoes with non-marking soles. For contemporary you can wear socks or go barefoot. For heels we ask that you please wear thick heels as stilettos can damage our floors.
-
Most of our classes are for those aged 16+. Our Sensual RnB, Bootywork, & Heels classes are 18+ only. Our K-Pop classes are 13+
-
Filming is totally optionable. While we do typically film a video with the entire class, you can choose to step out and dance away from the camera. Please note, we may use class videos for promotional material. If you choose to share any videos of yourself on social media, please tag the instructor & @onedancecentre! We love to watch your videos!
